Welcome to our Pikes Peak Elevation and Pikes Peak Mileage Virtual Challenge!
Since the American Trail Running Association was founded in Colorado Springs, a city along the Front Range of Colorado with a view of Pikes Peak America’s Mountain, we’ll celebrate our founding by offering a distance and elevation virtual challenge related to this iconic landmark. You can run, walk or hike and we’ll track your elevation gained and distance covered over a six-week period from December 31 until February 12, 2021.
Distance: Run, hike or walk the 63 mile Ring the Peak Trail which circumnavigates Pikes Peak. When you complete 63 miles, you’ll receive a congratulations message from the American Trail Running Association. Continue running and get additional congratulations messages at 126 miles (twice around the peak), 252 miles (four times around the peak), and 504 miles (eight times around the peak), over the six-week period.
Elevation: Run, hike or walk the 14,115’ elevation of Pikes Peak during the challenge. Each time you achieve 2000’ of elevation gain you’ll receive a congratulations message from the American Trail Running Association. You’ll reach the final congratulations when you reach the summit!
In honor of our 25th anniversary, we’re offering our second challenge and inviting all fans of trail running to participate. Trail runners around the globe can register and participate in this fun, virtual run challenge complete with leader boards with distance and elevation.
