Description:
SINCE 1986 … A RACE AT THE FOOT OF MONT BLANC
In 2023, La Montée du Nid d’Aigle is a step of Mountain Running Worldcup!
For the past 35 years, the Montée du Nid d’Aigle has been part of local heritage.
With an itinerary identical to that of the first edition, the event is an absolute must for all mountain race specialists.
A race that offers a spectacular finish at the gateway to the mountaineering route to the summit of Mont-Blanc.
The descent, aboard the mythical Mont-Blanc Tramway, is a distinctive feature of this historic race.
This popular summer event is also an occasion for 250 volunteers to gather together. Simple and authentic, the Montée du Nid d’Aigle takes place every year, on the 3rd weekend in July.
“Long before the word Trail ever existed, the Montée du Nid d’Aigle took place along the undulating mountainside at the foot of Mont-Blanc. Neither old school nor new school, this mountain race is a Classic. Competing is a way to honour the tradition of its founders, true pioneers on a diet of genepi, salami and Beaufort. I am extremely proud to win the 33rd edition.” – Baptiste Chassagne, winner of the 2019 edition.
